Powell sterling silver body, headjoint, B footjoint, and mechanism. White gold springs. A442 pitch. Offset G with a G disk. “S” style headjoint: the lip plate of the Soloist style in combination with a specially designed wall to produce a relatively free blowing headjoint with the “Powell Sound.”

This flute has only had one owner, who is now looking to sell this wonderful flute in order to upgrade. This is a wonderful professional Powell, in excellent condition. It has just been completely overhauled by Powell, and they took extra care of this instrument while restoring it to first-day quality. The overhaul included all new Straubinger pads, clean, oil, adjustment, and polished/shined. All of the blemishes and dents have been remoced. Also with the overhaul came an appraisal; the flute is valued at over $6,800.

This flute has an amazing sounds, and great response. It blends wonderfully in an ensemble, but speaks robustly as a soloist. It has served its owner faithfully all throughout high school and college as someone majoring in Music Performance.

This rolled out from the Powell production line on 12/23/2004. This is a nicely aged flute, which adds to the wonderful clarity and sound it delivers. This is a flute that will age wonderfully, and grow with that age.

Included is a Powell hardwood case, a Powell leather case, a Powell cherrywood swab stick, and a Powell shine cloth. Powell no longer makes these case types (rare find), and the swab stick is proper to calibrating the cork.

I am the sole owner of this beautiful Haynes. I purchased it directly from Haynes in Boston in 1988, while I was in my freshman year at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati.

This Haynes has always been impeccably maintained, and it has performed without fail throughout my professional career over the past 22 years. I have played it in many different settings and venues, from orchestral performances to Latin jazz concerts, solo flute gigs, weddings, chamber music and many studio recordings. The flute has a warm, round, sweet Haynes sound with many colors; it projects clearly and blends well with other instrumentation.

The flute is in perfect condition, performance ready, and it just had a COA in February 2012. It had a complete overhaul in 2008.
